Karl Lagerfeld is one of the most influential people in fashion, most known for being the head creative director of Chanel. He has multiple homes but one is on the market in his home country of Germany. The estate is affectionately called Villa Jako, named after his late partner, and is one of the most idyllic homes in his portfolio.
One of the things that makes it so special is the fact that it sits on the River Elbe, offering stunning views of the waterfront. The trees that surround it make it a true slice of paradise. The home itself is marvelous, too. Lagerfeld collaborated with Renate Kant, an art conservator. It was constructed in the 1920s but Lagerfeld put his fashionable thumbprint on it.

The backyard is idyllic, like something from a fairytale, with stunning landscaping, classic architecture, and an incredible staircase you can imagine supermodels walking down in Chanel for a fabulous garden party on the lawn.
The living room has high ceilings, incredible natural light, and a ceiling that is a work of art in its own right. The beautiful colors and modern furniture pair well with the antique touches.
The view from the home heading into the lawn is breathtaking, leading to a lake through a beautiful path of greenery.
The two-story dining room is open to an upstairs library. You can consume delicious food or literature in this space depending on what you’re craving.
Upstairs, the library is full of charm and character. A desk sits in the middle surrounded by velvet curtains that give the space some softness and elegance, while a glass ceiling floods it with natural light.
Gold mosaic tile acts as an area rug down the center of the bathroom, creating a beautiful path of gold that continues in smaller accents such as the stripes on the walls.
The lounge has a carnival-like appeal with a glamorous and mid-century modern twist.
