Hotel Tour: The Modern and Charming Hotel Panache in Paris

Hotels offer some of the most unique and interesting design inspiration in the world. Some of my favorites are overseas in Europe because of the fabulous history in the cities and architecture. I recently discovered a particularly inspiring hotel in Paris aptly called the Hotel Panache. The designer, Dorothee Meilichzon, was inspired by the neighborhood and the architecture of the building, leading her to incorporate a lot of angles in the interior.

The result is a fantastic mixture of shapes and textures that come together to create a glamorous, mid-century modern experience. It’s inspiring to see the intentional way she used geometric shapes and lines to create interest, as well as how she brilliantly mixed different textures and colors for a dramatic yet elegant result. The entire hotel is something special.

Hotel Tour: Karlie Kloss’ Glamorous AirBnB

Supermodel Karlie Kloss recently had the pleasure of staying rent-free in an incredible AirBnB mansion in Beverly Hills, located just moments away from the Sunset Strip. The $10 million mansion is as fashionable as it is spacious with five bedrooms and six bathrooms, not to mention two living rooms and a large pool. The home is definitely perfect for entertaining.

As far as style goes, the palette is mostly black and white with modern decor. While the decor is simple and minimalist, it has a lavish flair to it that makes it the perfect home away from home for a New York-based supermodel.

Hotel Tour: Singapore’s Minimalist Black and White Hotel Mono

Hotels offer some of the best design inspiration, especially boutique hotels. The Hotel Mono in Singapore is a great example of this. Located in Singapore’s Chinatown and converted from six historic shop houses, Hotel Mono adopted a strict black and white color palette that makes it striking and unique and a must-see for travelers and design enthusiasts alike.

The hotel skillfully mixes modern elements with Rococco-era features original to the building. The result is a design full of compelling contrasts: black and white, old and new. Every room is unique but sticks to the modern black and white theme.

This hotel tour is full of inspiration on how to use a monochromatic color scheme in a way that is stylish and eye-catching.

The way the tile extends across the entire wall and into the shower, for example, lengthens the space while the white opens it up.

Hotel Tour: The Qvest Hideaway Cologne

Some of the best designer hotels are hidden gems, often found tucked away in various places in Europe thanks to the rich history of the cities. Such is the case with the Qvest Hotel in Cologne, Germany.

The neo-gothic structure is a feast for the eye. The architecture alone is breathtaking, but the owner Michael Kaune gave the interior a modern touch that makes it a truly unique place to stay. He even used some pieces from his own personal collection to outfit it.

What is interesting about the modern decor in the hotel is how beautifully it compliments the neo-gothic architecture, which is still the star of the show. Every design element, color choice, and piece of furniture enhances rather than detracts from the building’s historic features. It certainly has its own personality.

Enjoy this hotel tour of a true treasure of Germany and a must-see for anyone who travels abroad.

Hotel Tour: The Crisp & Colorful Attwater Hotel

Some of the most charming and inspiring hotels in the world are boutique hotels. Because they are smaller, they put extra care into making the experience unique and the design something special.

The Attwater Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island is a boutique hotel that certainly fits that description. It captures the wonderful energy and history of the town it resides in. With brightly colored decor and an airy, contemporary vibe, you’ll never feel detached from the magic of the town you’re staying in, even while you’re indoors.

The design even has a whimsical nature that gives it its own personality. I love the unique mixtures of wood, patterns, color, and texture that can be found throughout this adorable hotel tour.
