October is coming to an end, which means Halloween is only a few short days away. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and the perfect excuse to host a festive party dressed in your best spooky attire. Maybe you’re having a haunted house party this weekend, or an elegant gathering for the adults while the kids are out trick-or-treating next week. Either way, it’s always fun to enjoy the occasion with friends and family!
If you’re like me, you’re thrilled by any opportunity to really get into the holiday spirit and take your hosting to the next level. On top of your sinister decor, food and beverages are another way to add to your party’s theme. I love the idea of having a signature drink to really set the mood and leave a lasting impression. If you need some inspiration, here are my top five chilling drink ideas to treat your guests to during this year’s scary celebrations!
Pumpkin Margarita

Pumpkin-flavored drinks are everywhere this time of year, but have you thought about adding pumpkin to your margarita? This Haunted Pumpkin Patch Margarita might just convince you to try it for yourself. Delight your guests with this Half-Baked Harvest recipe, inspired by the Harry Potter series.
This cozy fall drink can be made as a cocktail or mocktail, and includes tasty ingredients like apple cider, pumpkin butter, and ginger beer. I like the idea of using pumpkin-shaped glasses to really add to the effect. Finish off by adding spicy cinnamon sugar to the rim of your glass!
Ghost Milkshakes

Milkshakes are a crowd-pleaser and a great option for the kids. These Boo-nilla Ghost Milkshakes by Lil’ Luna are a simple way to add a festive twist to a classic vanilla shake. How cute are those little ghost faces drawn on the glasses? I also love the idea of adding black sugar to the rim for a nice touch.
Witches’ Brew Punch Bowl

A witches’ brew is not only a Halloween staple, but it can be a great addition to your spooky ambiance. The key to this one is adding in some food-grade dry ice for the smoky effect. This particular recipe uses jägermeister, as well as a bunch of fruity flavors. You can top it with orange and lemon slices, hibiscus flowers, and your dry ice.
Bloody Shirley Temple

I adore this twist on a classic Shirley Temple by Susie Weinrich. This mocktail recipe will send a shiver down your guests’ spines with the “bloody” syringe detail. The secret is to add your cherry grenadine to the Sprite through a plastic medicine syringe. With just two ingredients, this one is hard to beat!
Poison Apple Irish Creme Cocktail

For something so “poisonous,” these Irish creme cocktails could not look more delicious! This creation by Red Cottage Chronicles might just be my favorite drink idea of all. The key ingredient for this one is the apple pie-flavored Baileys Irish cream. Who doesn’t want a drink that tastes like a warm apple pie?
For the visual details of this drink, you’ll want a martini or cosmopolitan glass. The “dripping blood” look was created with a hardened sugar mixture, and I think it looks incredible. It’s the perfect gruesome yet sophisticated detail for your Halloween event.
All of these drink ideas are the perfect trick to have up your sleeve if you want your party to be a hit! I think they’ll make a wonderfully wicked addition to any haunted gathering. Which one are you most excited to try?
I wish you and your loved ones a happy and safe Halloween!
Warmly,
Megan
