Join me for a celebrity home tour of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ L.A. farmhouse. This stunning hilltop home sits on a 6-acre property. The couple wanted their home to look like an old barn converted into a house while still capturing a modern and relevant feel. They enlisted the help of architect Howard Backen and interior designer Vicky Charles, who was the former global head of design at Soho House. I think they nailed it!
Sustainable Design
It was important for Ashton and Mila to implement some sustainable elements into the design of their property, which they named KuKu Farms. The home is powered by photovoltaics hidden from view. The couple planted and harvested a field of corn. In addition, the property has its own well.
Entertainment Barn

I love the use of rustic materials in this home like reclaimed wood and board-form concrete. The home blends the unexpected mix of rustic and contemporary styles so well. The extravagant crystal chandelier provides a beautiful contrast to the surrounding elements. One of my favorite features of this room is the tall glass sliders that stretch 19 ft high filling the room with natural light.
Dining Room

Despite all the rustic elements, the entire house has such a refined look. In this particular room, the minimal desk, leather chairs, and grand piano help refine the space. The large floral branches add a touch of femininity. The antique rug helps define the room.
Barbecue Pavilion and Pool

The pool is simple, yet gorgeous. I love the sleek design of the curved floating pool chairs. The freestanding barbecue pavilion behind the pool is perfect for entertaining.
Living Room

I don’t think you could get much cozier than this living room with a built-in fireplace. I like how the exposed stacked logs are functional while also adding to the design. The seating is a beautiful rich color and looks incredibly comfortable. I love the large floral branches extending from the dining table.
Kutcher Kitchen

This kitchen is effortlessly cool — laid back and stylish at the same time. I love the unfinished look of the black cabinetry paired with the dark wood. The pendant lights are simple, yet stunning. The mismatched dining chairs and kitchen floor tiles add even more character. The palm branches top off the whole look.
Guest Bunkroom

In the guest bunkroom, there are two beautiful wooden bunk beds that mirror each other. The natural window treatment and pendant light create a cohesive look. The mini grand piano, toy vehicle, and dinosaur show signs of their children, Wyatt and Dimitri.
Primary Bath

This primary bath is so elegant. It comes complete with a silver throne chair custom designed by Ashton on a trip to India. The tufted ottoman and classy pendant light add a touch of glam. The cool colored wood on the ceiling creates an interesting balance.
Guest Bedroom

This intimate guest bedroom is quite cozy with a splendid view of the grandiose chandelier. The rich wine-colored headboard looks gorgeous against the dark wood planks. The neutral-colored bedsheets and accent chair brighten up the space.
Cozy Corner

Pretty much every room in this breathtaking home has serene views of the surrounding nature. I love this cozy little corner of the primary bedroom. The luxurious lounge chair and ottoman are a great juxtaposition next to the casual window seat and modern rocking chairs outdoors.
