Sometimes, you stumble upon a little gem that is surprising and full of inspiration. That’s exactly how I felt when I discovered the Summercamp Hotel in Martha’s Vineyard.
Taking the place of the former Wesley Hotel, the building is a stunning Victorian structure built in 1879 and located in the charming town of Oak Bluffs. The brand new interior captures every bit of that charm through colorful patterns, artistic surprises, and fun elements that come together to create a unique and whimsical experience.
Boston-based design firm Rachel Reider Interiors redesigned the hotel with the aim of capturing the spirit of summer camps with a chic, upscale flair. Bits of nostalgia mix with contemporary elements that make parents and kids alike feel right at home.
Elle Decor took us on a tour with beautiful photographs of the Summercamp Hotel that are sure to fill you with inspiration.

Artistic light fixtures juxtapose more traditional elements, like the stone fireplace, for a beautiful balance of the old and the new.
These hanging swings overlook the stunning lake the hotel sits on.
The game room is colorful with a retro spin. How beautiful is that blonde wood?
Patterns play a big role in the hotel, like this accent wall behind one of the beds and the blue pillow.
Modern furniture fills this cozy sitting area in one of the rooms with a minimalist appeal.
The decor is simple and cheerful, capturing the relaxing essence of summer.
This rope bed is spectacular. It’s a great interpretation of classic summer camp style with a chic twist.
More patterns are at work in this adorable sitting area, which uses a subtle blue to ground the wilder colors and patterns.
What is a summer camp without some bunk beds?
This is definitely a unique hotel worth checking out that the whole family is sure to love.
Warm regards,
Megan
