An island is one of the best features to have in a kitchen and is very sought-after by homeowners and renters alike. It’s not hard to see why – they offer more surface space for cooking and entertaining, you can dine at them or let the kids do their homework there, and they can provide extra storage space in the way of shelving, cabinetry, and drawers.
Kitchen islands also give the space a lot more character.
Table-style kitchen islands are some of my favorites. They take the charm and character of these great features to the next level. You can get them in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials to make it look more like a custom kitchen.
Most kitchens can accommodate a table-style island, even if it needs to be small and narrow. And what’s great is that you don’t have to invest a lot of money to have one. You can get a table at a garage sale or thrift store and customize it with a fresh coat of paint or a nice wood stain. They even work in a rental because you can remove them when you move.
Here are ten examples of beautiful table-style kitchen islands that show the great versatility and charm they can bring to a space.
