Paris lays claim to some of the most unique hotels in the world, none of which are more unique than the La Maison Champs Élysées. This boutique hotel only has 17 rooms, a restaurant, and a smoking bar, but every square foot is worth marveling over as it is brimming with incredible design inspiration.
The palette is strictly black and white and uses contrast, mirrors, and reflective surfaces to create visual interest. The most captivating part of the hotel’s design, however, has to be the use of trompe l’oeil throughout the building. Whenever you spot one of these artistic features, it is like finding a special gem. They give the hotel so much charm and whimsical character.
Enjoy this fascinating and wonderfully unique boutique hotel tour of the La Maison Champs Élysées in Paris, France.
The entrance to the hotel is a perfect precursor for what you will find inside: classic Parisian style with a unique modern flair.
Inside, you’ll feel like you’ve entered a sort of contemporary Wonderland with glass walls and unusual angles.
The all-white dining room is a sight to behold. Slipcovers give the traditional furniture a chic touch, while glass tables and unique lighting bring a modern, whimsical flair.
Some of the rooms continue the all-white palette but with a more rustic, minimalist approach.
Another angle of the restaurant shows the incredible use of glass in the space.
Magnificent chandeliers line one of the halls. There are so many interesting contrasts throughout the hotel, such as the trompe l’oeil carpet runner cutting through the smooth surface.
Trompe l’oeil effects on the walls create the illusion that you are in a classic French manor with a whimsical twist.
While some parts of the hotel are extravagant, like the trompe l’oeil walls, others are much simpler like this classic bathroom.
Here is a great example of the trompe l’oeil walls as seen in the corner of one of the suites. Even the curtains hanging over the windows continue the illusion.
Boutique hotels like these always add to the special experience of visiting a new city.
