Blue has long been one of my favorite colors to decorate with. It’s classic in every sense of the word. It is gender neutral, can be casual or elegant and offers a range of equally beautiful shades and tones from the softest to the boldest. I’ve spoken many times about my love for this color and all the great ways it can be used in a space, but for this post, I’m going to focus on the impact of bold blue walls.
Going bold on the walls can be daunting. If it’s a step you want to take, then blue is an excellent place to start. Even its boldest shades are disarming and elegant. They don’t jump out at you the same way red or orange or yellow does; their depth is actually quite calming, like the sea or the sky. Sherwin-Williams actually explored the phenomenon of blue pigment in nature in a very interesting article on color, Why Are Only Certain Animals Blue?

The blue walls provide a soothing backdrop to this elegant space that is at once classic and full of character.
What is there not to love about blue?
Warm regards,
Megan
