Lately, I’ve had a lot of clients asking me for what is called “modern masculine” design. Gone are the days of the old-fashioned bachelor pad. Now, it’s all about the sleek look of the stylish man’s abode. This look consists of clean lines, rich color palettes and strong textures. It’s masculine but sophisticated. Stylish, yet down to earth and natural.
What I love about modern masculine design is how, although it is male-centric, its style is classic and can be appreciated by both genders. I think you’ll see what I mean when you take a look at these 10 rooms that I think perfectly exemplify this style and its inspiring versatility.
A re-purposed wood accent wall brings a rustic appeal to this dining space. The ultra modern table and chairs create an interesting juxtaposition with the rustic nature of the wall and rug.
Warm neutrals compliment the minimalist design of this bedroom. Notice how all the surfaces are integrated right into the wall and bed frame for better efficiency and to maximize floor space.
Pops of red and orange bring depth to this cool, masculine setting.
Minimalism is a key component of modern masculine design. Everything is sleek and no space is wasted in this bathroom.
The look of erosion on the door provides a great industrial texture to this otherwise pristine entryway.
A deep blue is a great choice for someone who wants color while keeping things low-key and masculine.
Several different textures blend together to create dimension while still maintaining a minimalist feel.
The gorgeous coffee table is perfect for a modern guy’s bachelor pad.
Subway tile with black grout looks ultra stylish in a simple, classic way.
Industrial textures like exposed brick are perfect for this look, especially when paired with sleek furniture and warm wood tones.
A key thing to remember when trying to capture the modern masculine design trend is to mix the rustic, edgier textures with clean, smooth lines. The juxtaposition creates that chic style that makes the look so successful.
Warm regards,
Megan
