The most well put-together spaces are usually layered with interesting texture, and there is no better place to discover texture than in nature itself. Stone is one of my favorite materials to work with in design. It is so versatile and brings so much character to a space. Though its style is inherently rustic, it can work in many different types of spaces, including ones that lean towards modern or contemporary vibes. It is beautiful to use in the obvious ways (such as on a fireplace) but it can also bring charm as unexpected accents.
