Letting the Light In: Windows Without Drapes

Window treatments are typically considered one of the “finishing touches” on a space. They can help pull the room together and make it look complete. However; as they say, rules are made to be broken. I did a post on how to choose between curtains and blinds for window treatments, but what about the option of no treatment at all? Bare windows can sometimes be the perfect choice for a space. (As long as you are not looking for added privacy, of course.)

Some windows are so beautifully crafted that they look lovely without any drapes or blinds/shutters. Older homes especially have custom, framed windows that are so pretty in their own right that it’s almost a shame to cover them up. Even your decor may not call for the extra detail of a window treatment. Whatever the case may be, windows without drapes can look gorgeous. Here are 10 examples where that is found to be true.
