The cabinets are easily the star of any kitchen. There are so many different combinations you can choose to make your cabinets your own, whether you’re building an entire custom kitchen or simply giving the one you have a face lift. One look I’ve been seeing more often lately are cabinets painted in a color. It’s a unique choice to not go with the typical wood tone or neutral, but it can create some really fantastic results when you take the leap and go bold.
Though I wouldn’t recommend this for a house you plan to put on the market soon, colorful cabinets can add a lot of character to a home you plan to be in for a while, and can definitely give it a fresh new look. Check out these 10 ideas for colors for your kitchen cabinets to inspire you.
Teal cabinets may surprise you with how chic they can look. Pairing them with one bank of white upper cabinets brings some dimension to the space.
You may hear “hot pink cabinets” and think there is no way that could look good, but this kitchen proves that thought wrong. With all the right choices in finishes, it actually looks quite chic.
A soft green is a nice compromise between color and a neutral. It brings some pigment to the space, but doesn’t jump out at you.
Bright red cabinets with a high gloss finish bring a retro flair to this kitchen.
These cabinets were painted in Teresa’s Green by Farrow & Ball. The blue-green brings a softness to the rustic space.
A buttery yellow on the cabinets looks upscale and sophisticated, not to mention brings some easy cheer to the space.
Purple cabinets are another unusual choice, but in this kitchen the purple-gray color looks charming and very stylish.
Burnt orange cabinets mix well with wood tones and bring a vintage flair to the space, playing well off the backsplash and black accents.
Lime green cabinets bring a pop of character and style to this kitchen, mixing well with all the shiny black accents. The cream on the uppers not only tones down the green, but also brings a nice depth to the space.
Navy blue is a classic, bold touch. Paired with the white, it creates a clean and contemporary look.
Would you ever consider painting your kitchen cabinets in a color? If so, what color?

Megan
