Chandeliers have been bringing elegance to dining rooms for centuries, but it’s only recently that it has become a trend to feature these lighting beauties in outdoor spaces. They are an wonderfully unexpected dose of glamour on a porch or patio. Though more care is required for chandeliers used outside, the results can be spectacular. Just about any outdoor space could be improved with a chandelier to give it some extra charm and character. There are a variety of outdoor chandeliers to choose from, so here a selection that successfully improved their spaces.

This chandelier is eye-catching and perfectly suited to this space because it is a literal mixture of traditional and modern.

For an outdoor event, several small chandeliers line this long table for a grand effect. It would be easy to recreate this on a smaller scale with just a few chandeliers.

If it weren’t for the grass and trees, you would probably think this was an indoor room. The chandelier hanging from the tree gives this space a whimsical spirit.

A vintage chandelier adds charm to this patio, playing well off the ceiling design and striped curtains.

Here, a simple chandelier fills in the high ceiling of this porch with an earthy tone that lets the red pop.

There is a lot going on in this space, so the chandelier was smartly kept simple while still offering an interesting shape.

A large chandelier is just what this space need to unite it and draw your eyes to the tall ceiling.

Mixing and matching multiple chandeliers can create a whimsical and charming look above a festive table.

Incorporating flowers in this chandelier made it the perfect blend of indoor and outdoor character.

A porch in cottage style wouldn’t be complete without a charming little chandelier to pull it all together.
Would you ever consider decorating with outdoor chandeliers?
Warm regards,
Megan
I have been looking for a chandelier for my front porch similar to the one in the picture under the caption “A large chandelier is just what this space needs…”. You don’t happen to know the manufacturer of this chandelier do you? Or maybe any others that would be similar? Damp-rated chandeliers are extremely hard to find, specially when I have a specific style in mind.
Thank you,
Hi Nanci,
Unfortunately, I’m not sure where they purchased the chandelier in the photo. (It is at a hotel called Casa Lecanda in Merida, Yucatan. You can see their website here: http://www.casalecanda.com/) However; some places you can check for something similar are Pottery Barn (I found this one, which is similar and very pretty: http://www.potterybarn.com/products/armonk-six-arm-chandelier-bronze/?pkey=cpendants-sconces-outdoor&) or Lighting Direct which also has a large variety: http://www.lightingdirect.com/outdoor-chandelier/c71.
Hope this helped. Best of luck to you!
Warm regards,
Megan
