Chic and Charming Parisian Living Room Ideas

The city’s vibe is effortlessly stylish and classic, so it’s the perfect inspiration if you want to capture that sort of appeal in your home decor.

It comes down to some simple concepts: minimal color, exquisite details, and a feminine flair.

Home Tour: Karl Lagerfeld’s Stylish German Villa

Karl Lagerfeld is one of the most influential people in fashion, most known for being the head creative director of Chanel. He has multiple homes but one is on the market in his home country of Germany. The estate is affectionately called Villa Jako, named after his late partner, and is one of the most idyllic homes in his portfolio.

One of the things that makes it so special is the fact that it sits on the River Elbe, offering stunning views of the waterfront. The trees that surround it make it a true slice of paradise. The home itself is marvelous, too. Lagerfeld collaborated with Renate Kant, an art conservator. It was constructed in the 1920s but Lagerfeld put his fashionable thumbprint on it.

Giving Your Kitchen an Industrial Flair with Bar Stools

The industrial style has become more popular in recent years with the rise of farmhouse decor, which often incorporates industrial elements. These elements bring a masculine, edgy look to the table. They look great in contrast with softer elements and add character to the decor. In a kitchen, the bar stools are the perfect way in which to incorporate an industrial flair.

Industrial bar stools come in many different forms. Typically, they’re made of metal, iron, wood or a mixture thereof. They can be antiqued, distressed or polished. It all depends on the look you want to create. Look at the overall design and color scheme of your space, think about the mood you want to cultivate and look for a bar stool that captures it while also bringing in that edgy, industrial look.

Here are 10 examples of industrial bar stools to give you some ideas and inspiration.

Home Tour: Mandy Moore’s Mid-Century Modern Pasadena Retreat

Actress Mandy Moore recently renovated a 1950’s home in Pasadena to reflect her personal style while embracing the home’s original architecture by Harold B. Zook. Moore appreciated the architect’s original vision, falling in love with the property as soon as she saw it. She kept most of the home’s original features, like the brick floors, and balanced it with a fresh, modern take that complements the vintage aspects of the home.

The property looks out onto incredible views of the San Gabriel mountains and valley, so floor-to-ceiling windows give you access to them in almost every room, as well as a beautiful outdoor patio. There is plenty of natural light throughout the home to give it a happy, refreshing feel. Though the home is very chic in design, Moore made sure to choose furniture and elements that were child and pet-friendly.
