10 Luxury Closets & Dressing Rooms with Islands

Most of us have an idea of what our dream closet would look like. If you’re anything like me, you love pinning luxury closet ideas on Pinterest and daydreaming about all the amazing organization and beautiful design. One of my favorite things about many luxury closets are the addition of an island.

Closet islands offer a lot of extra storage in the form of drawers or shelves for things like jewelry and accessories. They also give you a surface on which you can fold clothes, lay out options for the day, or even to display your jewelry or other decor. While not every walk-in closet is large enough to accommodate an island, they don’t actually have to be gigantic for one, either. Even a small island in the closet can bring some character and extra storage to the space.

You can take a lot of other great ideas from luxury closets, too. You can play with the color of your shelving or cabinets, switch out the hardware to something more glamorous, do an eye-catching accent on the ceiling, or even hang a chandelier as your light fixture. Your closet doesn’t have to be huge to be luxurious.

Here are 10 luxury closets to inspire you to help you get your a little closer to your dream.

Home Tour: Keira Knightley’s Modern Tribeca Apartment

Actress Keira Knightley recently sold her apartment in the TriBeCa neighborhood for $6 million and whoever scooped it up now owns one of the most charming homes in Manhattan. The apartment features two floors, a spiral staircase, 23-foot ceilings, a large private patio, and industrial touches against warm wood accents that make this home a one-of-a-kind.

Each space feels very open thanks to the abundant natural light, spacious layout, and high ceilings. Most of the walls are white, adding to the light and airy concept, while wood and brick warm it up and give it some character. A minimalist sensibility lends a zen-like quality which creates an interesting contrast against some of the rough accents.

10 Home Offices That Will Inspire You to Work

Not that long ago, home offices were something you didn’t see that often. They were only in homes of people who ran their own business out of their house or had enough space to devote a spare bedroom to the computer. Nowadays, though, they are a lot more common. Even people who don’t work from home often feel a home office is a necessary space to have.

For many homeowners, home offices easily run the risk of losing style amid trying to fulfill all the necessary functions of it. However, this is arguably one of the most important spaces in a home to feel inspired in. After all, we are all far more efficient when we are feeling inspired, or at the very least comfortable and motivated by our environment. Even chores, like doing the bills, can be a much more pleasant experience if you love the space in which you are doing them.

There are a lot of ways to make a home office beautiful, personalized, and efficient. Here are some great ideas to inspire you.

Fresh and Chic Farmhouse Living Room Ideas

One of the most popular design styles lately is farmhouse. Farmhouse decor is a variation on “country” or “rustic” decor, focusing more on the lifestyle and vibe than anything else. The defining characteristics are cozy, charming, and lots of character.

You can mix farmhouse style with a variety of other styles to create something uniquely your own. Farmhouse even works great with contemporary and glamorous elements. It’s up to you how many rustic elements you want to include. The most common ones to use are weathered or reclaimed wood, metal, and recycled furniture (such as an old suitcase being used as a coffee table).

The key to great farmhouse style is to create a warm and inviting atmosphere with a lot of character. One of the best rooms in the house in which to apply this style is in the living room where these characteristics are especially desirable.

Here are 10 farmhouse living rooms that are sure to inspire you and show just how versatile this style can be.
