Television host Ellen DeGeneres and wife Porta DeRossi recently listed their Italian villa-inspired Santa Barbara home for $45 million and it is certainly a unique, impressive property. Architect Wallace Frost created a home that feels like it was taken right out of Tuscany and placed on a gorgeous piece of land in California. It features stone walls, wood ceilings, and an impressive way of feeling both cozy and spacious at the same time.
The Tuscan architecture is contrasted with modern furnishings (including a very modern, streamlined kitchen) that create a truly unique home. There are a lot of elements you can pull inspiration from. In your own home, you could install wood beams, a stone accent wall, and create more visual interest by contrasting those rustic elements with modern decor.
